State Adoptions

Effective August 1, 2014, the State of Mississippi has adopted as a minimum any of the last three editions of the International Building Code and any additional codes as adopted by the Mississippi Building Code Council. In December 2019, the Mississippi Building Code Council adopted the 2018 editions of the IBC, IRC, IEBC, IFC, IFGC, IMC, IPC and IECC. The ISPSC is adopted by reference in the IBC and IRC. While adopting Mississippi jurisdictions must currently adopt either the 2012, 2015 or the 2018 editions as a minimum, jurisdictions can adopt newer editions including the 2021 and 2024 International Codes®.
