Members Forum Roadshow provides stage for ICC member feedback
International Code Council Board of Directors President Jay Elbettar and Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims will host the first stop of the International Code Council’s Members Forum Roadshow from 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. ET on April 15 in the Battelle Grand Room in Columbus, Ohio.
Designed to address topics of particular interest to building and code professionals, President Elbettar and Sims will respond to member questions and feedback and speak on Code Council programs and initiatives.
Starting off this year in Columbus during the Committee Action Hearings, next stops in the Members Forum Roadshow will be in Denver, Colo., the upper Midwest, and will finish off in Richmond, Va., during the ICC Annual Conference and Public Comment Hearings.
Last year’s Members Forum Roadshow — with stops in Los Angeles; Sacramento; Arlington, Texas; and Columbus, Ohio, throughout the year — was an informative and productive week. Overall, Code Council board and staff met with more than 1,000 members in seven cities covering six states. View photos from last year’s tour.
Code Council Board Past President Dwayne Garriss and Sims also met with members and chapter leaders in Portland, Ore.; Boise, Idaho; and Bellevue, Wash., during the Pacific Northwest Tour — a brief side tour from the main Members Forum Roadshow — where they discussed how the Code Council can best serve its chapters and members.
Garriss and Sims had great discussions with chapter leaders and members from the Oregon Building Officials Association, Oregon Fire Marshals Association, Oregon Permit Technicians Association, Oregon Mechanical Officials Association and ICC Region II on how the Code Council can best serve its chapters and members. In Idaho, Garriss and Sims conducted a roundtable discussion with the Idaho Association of Building Officials. On the third stop of the Pacific Northwest Tour, Garriss and Sims conducted a Town Hall Meeting with the Washington State Association of Permit Technicians, Washington State Association of Fire Marshals and Washington Association of Building Officials.
