ICC member recognized for residential construction safety
Carl L. Harris, president and chief executive officer of Carl Harris Company in Wichita, Kan., received the Leadership in Construction Safety Award from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for its 12th annual NAHB/Builders Mutual Insurance Company Safety Award for Excellence (SAFE). The awards program recognizes member companies, workers and other individuals for outstanding safety programs that make them leaders in the residential construction industry. Harris was one of 12 winners selected for a commitment to strong safety and health programs in the residential construction industry.
“Safety permeates all aspects of home construction, and is an ever-present factor whenever a builder, remodeler, subcontractor or multi-unit home builder steps onto the jobsite,” said David Miller, chairman of the NAHB Construction Safety and Health Committee. “These excellent builders and remodelers unapologetically enforce safety procedures so that everyone walks off the worksite and gets home without injury. I commend these honorees for taking pride in worksite safety and integrating it as a critical component of their business success.”
