David A. Tompos is the Executive Vice President of the Conformity Assessment Group for the International Code Council. He oversees all testing, inspection, product evaluation and certification activities within ICC-ES and ICC NTA including building, plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas, swimming pool and spa, private sewage disposals, and other related products.
Tompos began his career as Director of Testing Services at the NTA Testing Laboratory where he oversaw the development of the industry’s first electronic plan review software, eDAPIA. He then served as President and CEO of NTA from 2002 to 2023 where he was responsible for the overall strategic vision and direction of the company. David also oversaw all government-related relationships, including NTA’s involvement with HUD and State agencies.
Tompos studied at Purdue University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer and electrical engineering.
