Now available: 2019 California code certification exams

The International Code Council Assessment Center — in collaboration with the Code Council/California Building Officials (CALBO) Examination Development Committee (EDC) — have released 10 updated exams on the 2019 Title 24 California Codes.

Since 2006, CALBO and the Code Council have been working together to offer these imperative state-specific exams. The Code Council/CALBO EDC is made up of dedicated individuals from several jurisdictions in California who have contributed many hours in reviewing, updating and improving the exam questions.

Earlier this year, the Code Council released the new 2019 California Code publications. The 2019 California Codes will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2020. In response, the Code Council will offer various training to help individuals prepare. S. K. Ghosh and Associates is offering a course on Significant Structural Changes in the 2019 CBC/2018 IBC at various locations throughout California in December and January. The Learning Center at ICC will be offering 2019 CRC Essentials (virtual and classroom formats) and 2019 CBC Essentials (virtual and classroom formats) throughout 2020. The goal of this training is to provide a basis for the correct use and application of the code as well as to begin to develop a procedure for its application.

The following certification exams were added to the catalog on Nov. 1, 2019, and the exams will be offered via the Proctored Remote Online Testing Option (PRONTO).

I3 — CALIFORNIA COMMERCIAL PLUMBING INSPECTOR

I4 — CALIFORNIA COMMERCIAL MECHANICAL INSPECTOR

I6 — CALIFORNIA BUILDING PLANS EXAMINER

CT — CALGREEN INSPECTOR / PLANS EXAMINER
