Mexico

Building safety in Mexico is the responsibility of each local jurisdiction. As the largest jurisdiction in the country, Mexico City frequently adopts regulations which are later adopted or referenced throughout the country. In Mexico City, building regulation is the responsibility of the City Administration. The Mexico City Building Code and the Mexico Energy Conservation Code (based on the IECC) are used as model codes in most regions of the country.
