Trinidad and Tobago
Building safety is the responsibility of the Ministry of Planning and Development, but the country does not have a national building code. The Ministry of Planning and Development and the Trinidad & Tobago Bureau of Standards are considering adoption of the International Codes.
The Trinidad & Tobago Bureau of Standards was involved in the development of the CARICOM Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code (CREEBC), which is based on the International Energy Conservation Code. The CREEBC is in the process of being adopted and implemented in the country.
