COVID-19 preparedness for Code Council’s 2021 Annual Conference and Public Comment Hearings in Pittsburgh
We are looking forward to seeing you in just a few short weeks for our Annual Conference and Public Comment Hearings in Pittsburgh. As we prepare to gather, we want to assure you that your safety is of primary importance to us.
As of right now, there are no local or state restrictions in place in Pittsburgh on gatherings or events, so we are continuing with our plan of holding an in-person event.
Here’s what you can expect:
- All Code Council staff in attendance will be fully vaccinated.
- There will be readily available hand-sanitizing stations and complimentary masks.
- We will make any adjustments necessary to adhere to all local, state and federal safety guidelines in place at the time of the event.
As in previous years, testimony and voting during the Public Comment Hearings will be in-person only. We will still have a live stream available for remote listeners. Given the complexity of the voting procedures at the fall hearings, the higher vaccination rates and the loosening of restrictions on gatherings, we chose to move forward with the in-person hearings. We gathered a number of lessons learned from the virtual Committee Action Hearings in April, and we plan to incorporate those into our planning for future events.
We will continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19, including the Delta variant, and stand ready to implement increased safety measures if needed. You’ll also be updated on any additional protocols added in the coming weeks so that you can plan accordingly.
Until then, stay safe. We’ll see you in Pittsburgh!
