Southern Nevada Chapter of ICC Donation Supports ICC Foundation’s Code of Honor Scholarship Program

(Washington D.C.) – Today the International Code Council Foundation (ICC Foundation) recognized the Southern Nevada Chapter of ICC for its donation to the Foundation’s Code of Honor Scholarship Program.

The goal of the Code of Honor Scholarship Program is to ensure that the I-Codes continue to reflect the consensus view of officials at all levels of government by providing funding to Governmental Member Voting Representatives seeking to attend Final Action Hearings. In 2010, the Foundation awarded 68 individuals with scholarships to attend the Dallas and Charlotte Final Action Hearings. Scholars represented 27 states and the Cayman Islands.

“This generous gift from our Southern Nevada Chapter will support professional development of our Governmental Members and provide them with the opportunity to increase building safety overall by participating in the code development process,” said International Code Council CEO and ICC Foundation Chairman Richard P. Weiland.

“This donation supports our commitment to the ICC Foundation, the Code of Honor Scholarship Program, and code officials overall,” said Southern Nevada Chapter of ICC President, Neil Burning.

The Southern Nevada Chapter of the International Code Council is dedicated to promote the vision, mission and goals of the Code Council.
