Part 1 – Significant Changes in the Structural Provisions of the 2021 IBC
August 16, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
The 2021 IBC has already been adopted or is soon to be adopted by major jurisdictions around the country. The 2022 California Building Code, based on the 2021 IBC, is going to be effective on January 1, 2023. Changes in the structural provisions, Chapters 16-23, from the 2018 to the 2021 IBC are discussed and explained in this series of five webinars as follows:
Part 1 – Preliminaries and Chapter 16, Structural Design
The 2018 IBC adopted ASCE 7-16; the 2021 IBC adopts ASCE 7-16 with Supplement No. 1. Thus, the changes in chapter 16 come mainly from Supplement No. 1 and a number of changes to ASCE 7-16 that were not implemented in the 2018 IBC. All significant changes are explained in this first webinar.
