New Committee Meeting Announcement for Global Standard ICC 825

The International Code Council has announced a committee meeting in support of the new standard project – ICC 825 Standard for Private Sewage Disposal Systems.

All Code Council standards committee meetings are open to the public and any interested party can participate and be considered for membership on workgroups that the committee creates.

Code Council standards are developed to address building industry challenges as they relate to compliance with the International Codes. Participating in these committees will help to shape these standards to ensure safe, affordable and sustainable communities and buildings worldwide. 

ICC 825 Standard for Private Sewage Disposal Systems

The ICC 825 Technical Committee will be holding its first meeting on April 12, 2023, from 2 pm to 6 pm EDT in virtual format.

This new global standard would provide minimum requirements for designing, constructing, operating and maintaining private sewage disposal systems which include septic tank and effluent absorption systems, or other treatment tank and effluent disposal systems, where a public sewer is not available.  Furthermore, the new standard will focus on the impacts of climate change, and how better to design and install such systems to be more resilient to extreme weather events.
