Board Working Group Will Consider IECC Next Steps
The International Code Council solicits stakeholder feedback on the IECC.
As announced on April 11, the International Code Council Board of Directors directed the Board’s International Energy Conservation Code® (IECC) Working Group to develop recommendations for the Board’s consideration that:
- Clarify the scope and intent for the 2027 IECC
- Provide additional information on the role of the IECC consensus committees, and the opportunities for engagement by governmental representatives and other stakeholders.
- Improve the efficiency of the Code Council appeals process.
- Respond to inquiries received following the Board’s IECC preemption and appeals determinations.
The Working Group will examine these four areas and provide recommendations to the full Board for consideration.
The Code Council requests that interested parties provide suggestions and feedback on the IECC using this online form.
