About the Author
John Woestman, director of codes and regulatory affairs for the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association, provides technical expertise and services pertaining to building codes and advocacy. Woestman has a mechanical engineering degree from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Iowa. He is a member of the International Code Council, the National Fire Protection Association and ASTM International.
