Antonio Nanni, FACI, is an inaugural senior scholar, professor, and chair of the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Miami. His research interests include construction materials, their structural performance and field application, especially concrete and advanced composites‑based repair and strengthening systems. He is chair of ACI Committee 549, Thin Reinforced Cementitious Products and Ferrocement, and a member of numerous ACI committees, including ACI Committee 440, Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement. He has received several awards, including the 2014 IIFC Medal from the International Institute for FRP in Construction and the 2012 ASCE Henry L. Michel Award for Industry Advancement of Research.
