Call For Presentations: Now’s Your Chance to Contribute to Code Council Training
To provide enhanced educational opportunities to participants, the Code Council is actively seeking training presentation proposals from technical educators.
Preparations are underway for the International Code Council’s 2024 Annual Conference, Expo and Committee Action Hearings which will be held in Long Beach, CA, from October 20-31, 2024.
To provide enhanced educational opportunities to participants, the Code Council is actively seeking training presentation proposals from technical educators. These proposals should concentrate on practical topics covering building safety, fire and life safety, administration, enforcement and construction, with special emphasis on emerging topics such as off-site construction, energy and adaptive reuse.
These opportunities taking place on Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22 include:
- In-Person: Annual Conference Training Session (90-minutes)
- In-Person: Annual Conference Trade Show (30-minutes)
Presentation submissions should include:
- An overview and broad outline of the proposed topic
- A list of objectives for the training (four minimum)
- A draft version of the curriculum and related presentation
- A resume or summary of credentials for the intended presenter(s)
- Expected length and preferred delivery method
To assign Continuing Education Units (CEUs) it is important that proposed topics offer educational value rather than serving as advertisements for specific products or services, even if presented by a product or service provider.
Submissions will be assessed by the Code Council’s Education Committee, appointed by the Board of Directors, and key staff leaders from across the Code Council family of solutions. The submission deadline is March 31, 2024.
