Code Council attends NCARB annual meeting
The International Code Council is an important industry partner of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards
In support of its ongoing partnership with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the International Code Council participated in NCARB’s annual business meeting, held June 2-4, 2022, in Austin, Texas. Code Council Board of Directors Vice President Mike Wich was recognized by NCARB President Alfred Vidaurri, NCARB, NOMA, FAIA, during his opening remarks, identifying the Code Council as an important industry partner. During the meeting, NCARB unveiled a new vision statement, “Ensuring safe spaces and places for all communities,” illustrating its alignment with the Code Council.
One of NCARB’s workshops, “Engaging with NCARB and Beyond,” featured a video encouraging architects and other industry stakeholders to engage in the development of the International Codes by participating in the Code Council’s code development process. “NCARB and the Code Council share a common perspective in serving the industry,” said Wich. “Just as the Code Council supports local and state jurisdictions that regulate the construction of buildings, NCARB supports state jurisdictions that regulate the practice of architecture. We look forward to continue working with NCARB to advance our mutual vision of creating safe buildings and communities.”
