International Code Council offers new service to help plumbing professionals with Massachusetts license renewals
The International Code Council proudly offers continuing education services to licensed professionals seeking Massachusetts plumbing and gas-fitting license renewal. The association was recently approved by the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters as a preferred provider.
Every two years, Massachusetts licensed professionals are required to obtain six hours of plumbing and six hours of gas fitters continuing education. The education is divided annually into sessions that consist of three hours of plumbing-focused material and three hours of gas-fitting material. The Code Council’s approved preferred provider status will take effect in the upcoming session 13 of the licensing renewal cycle.
“As code departments continue to address the needs posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, there remains a critical need for well-trained, skilled building and plumbing professionals to ensure and maintain safe plumbing systems,” said Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO. “This new service increases access and provides convenience for Massachusetts plumbing license holders to attend classes for license renewal, thus keeping our plumbing workforce available to perform their essential safety duties.”
Code Council training for license renewals will be coordinated and conducted by PMG Technical Resources Director Gary Gauthier.
