MPMIA Code Council Chapter Hosts Successful Training Seminar
The Maryland Plumbing and Mechanical Inspectors Association (MPMIA), chapter of the International Code Council, held their Annual Training Seminar in Ocean City, MD.
On March 31 – April 1, 2023, the Maryland Plumbing and Mechanical Inspectors Association (MPMIA), chapter of the International Code Council, held their Annual Training Seminar in Ocean City, MD.
Chapter President and Code Council PMG Membership Council Vice-Chair, William Funk, opened the event with introductions and welcomed over 40 attendees to the seminar.
The seminar featured networking opportunities and technical training presentations that included instruction on grinder pump installations, insulated flex ducts, NIRON nylon piping and ASSE 1017 Thermostatic and Digital Mixing Valves.
Joe Radtka, Chair of the Maryland State Board of Plumbing, also made a presentation on updates that were being made at the state level.
Success as a Code Council Chapter
MPMIA has been a key player in Maryland’s adoption and implementation of several International Codes® (I-Codes). The chapter actively supports efforts to bring greater uniformity to the design, construction and inspection of commercial and residential buildings across the state through building codes and standards.
