Rocco Davis appointed to California Transportation Commission
Jon Rocco Davis, the chairperson of the International Accreditation Service (IAS) Board of Directors, was appointed by California Governor Gavin Newsom to the California Transportation Commission (CTC). The 13-member commission is responsible for programming and allocating funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail, transit and active transportation improvements throughout California. The commission also advises and assists the Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency and the legislature in formulating and evaluating state policies and plans for California’s transportation programs.
Since 2001, Davis has been vice president and regional manager of Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA). He also chairs the LiUNA Pacific Southwest Regional Organizing Coalition, the National Alliance for Fair Contracting, the Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust Southwest, and the International Accreditation Service. Davis is a trustee of the National Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust Board, the LiUNA Staff and Affiliates Pension Fund, the Laborers’ National Industrial Pension Fund, the Laborers’ National Health and Welfare Fund, the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America, the LiUNA Training and Education Fund, the Service Contract Education and Training Trust, and the Laborers-Employers Benefit Plan Collection Trust.
