Six resolutions submitted, approved by membership at 2021 Annual Business Meeting

At this year’s Annual Business Meeting on Sept. 20, 2021, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, six resolutions were submitted by the ICC Resolutions Committee for consideration by the membership.

Resolution 2021–1, Concerning the Conference Site, which expresses the sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of the Commonwealth Building Officials for its warm greeting and hospitality during the International Code Council’s 18th Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 19–21, 2021.

Resolution 2021–2, Concerning Deceased Members, which pays tribute to the memory of departed members and colleagues.

Resolution 2021–3, Concerning the Committees, Councils, and Annual Conference Committee, which expresses the sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of the Annual Conference Committee who contributed their time and knowledge to the membership councils and committees in certification and testing, standards and code development, government relations, training and education, technical services, and Code Council subsidiaries.

Resolution 2021–4, Concerning the Immediate Past President, which expresses the sincere gratitude and appreciation of the membership to William Bryant for his dedicated service to the members of the International Code Council during his years of service on the Board of Directors.

Resolution 2021–5, Concerning Retired Members, which pays tribute to those members recently retired for their contributions to the safety and security of the public in the built environment.

Resolution 2021–6, Concerning the 2021 Virtual Committee Action Hearings, which expresses sincere thanks and gratitude to the Code Council staff, hearing moderators, committee members, and hearing participants who contributed to the successful and effective virtual 2021 Committee Action Hearings.

Members of the ICC Resolutions Committee are appointed annually by the Code Council Board of Directors President. Each year, the committee prepares the Resolutions of the Members to be considered during the Annual Business Meeting. All resolutions to be considered at the Annual Business Meeting are reviewed by the committee, which then presents the resolutions to the membership at the Annual Business Meeting. All six of the resolutions submitted by the ICC Resolutions Committee for consideration by the membership were ratified by the membership during the Annual Business Meeting.

Serving with Resolutions Committee Chair Donny Phipps on this year’s ICC Resolutions Committee were Code Council Board Directors Shirley Ellis, Ron Hampton, Steve McDaniel, Michael Savage, Jim Sayers and David Spencer.
