SKGA to offer a webinar series on the Surfside building collapse and ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete
S.K. Ghosh Associates LLC (SKGA) will be offering a four-part webinar series called Surfside, Florida Building Collapse and ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete. The first of the one-hour seminar series will begin on Jan. 5, 2022.
Join us as we discuss the three main areas of improvement in the ACI standard for concrete design and construction and indicate how compliance with the enhanced requirements would have been beneficial to the performance of the Surfside building. Concrete durability, flat plate punching shear and structural integrity provisions of ACI 318 are critical areas of improvement that engineers, architects and building officials must be familiar with for the safe performance of concrete buildings.
Our presenter is Dr. S.K. Ghosh, a long-standing member of ACI Committee 318. He has influenced concrete and seismic design provisions in the United States for many years by serving on or chairing numerous committees and advisory panels. He specializes in the analysis and design, including wind and earthquake resistant design, of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures.
Attendees can earn 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or 1.0 professional development hours (PDHs). CEU/PDH certificates are provided free of charge. Register by Jan. 3, 2022, to receive an early-bird discount and register for all four webinars for a $50 savings. Learn more and register at www.skghoshassociates.com/web-seminars/.
