The Learning Center at ICC has posted the complete 2019 training schedule online at learn.iccsafe.org. This robust year of training includes a lot of new and exciting topics including:

• Marijuana & the Building Code
• Getting the Most Out of the IPMC
• Basic Code Enforcement Webinar Series: building on the popularity of previous series, this particular series will focus on topics such as; safe and proper procedures on contact, safety in hazardous buildings, drug and gang awareness for the code enforcement officer, mental illness in code enforcement, self-defense tactics, dealing with hazmat and hoarding properties and joint enforcement safety.

The new year also brings an expansion of more convenient and cost effective training options, including virtual training and webinars.

When you join a virtual training event you can actually see your instructor and those in the physical classroom and they can see you! A virtual classroom is a hybrid learning environment where you participate remotely and experience the same collaboration, instructor interaction and learning benefits as if you were physically in the classroom.

Webinar series are becoming a very popular alternative to full-day, in-person training. All you need is an internet connection. The series break up the larger topic areas into condensed one- to one-and-one-half-hour training over multiple sessions. You can choose to take them all or take as many as you would like in the session. Take a webinar to earn the continuing education units you need toward certification or reinstatement.
