International Code Council to Host Sessions on Off-Site Construction and Advanced Building Products at HUD’s 2024 Innovative Housing Showcase
The International Code Council is a co-sponsor of this year’s showcase and will be leading a session on Thursday, June 6, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm ET.
From June 7-9, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will host its 2024 Innovative Housing Showcase in Washington D.C. This annual event, now in its fourth year, is dedicated to promoting cutting-edge and affordable housing solutions and technologies to the public. These innovations aim to increase housing supply, lower construction costs, enhance energy efficiency, bolster resilience and ultimately reduce costs for homeowners and renters.
The International Code Council co-sponsors this year’s showcase and will lead an “Innovations in Building Codes and Standards” session on Thursday, June 6, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm ET. This session will feature a fireside chat followed by two-panel discussions focusing on advancements in off-site construction and innovative building products.
The session will address housing affordability and availability challenges and community resilience goals. Attendees will gain insights into the latest off-site construction regulatory landscape and the product evaluation process to bring innovative building products to market, which are crucial for developing sustainable housing solutions.

The showcase is open to the public and aims to raise awareness about the potential of innovative housing solutions to address current housing challenges. By showcasing these designs and technologies, HUD hopes to inspire actionable solutions that can be implemented to improve the housing sector worldwide.
