New IAS Board of Directors announced
Seven individuals have been appointed to serve on the International Accreditation Service (IAS) Board of Directors. A subsidiary of the International Code Council, IAS provides objective evidence that companies and organizations operates at the highest level of ethical, legal and technical standards. IAS programs are based on recognized national and international standards that ensure domestic and/or global acceptance of its accreditations.
Individuals appointed to the IAS Board are: Amiri Shahriar, Chief Building Official, Arlington County, Va., two-year term; John Barrios, Manager/Building Official, city of Tampa, Fla., one-year term; Jon “Rocco” Davis, Vice President and Regional Manager, Pacific Southwest Region of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, Sacramento, Calif., three-year term; Stephen D. Jones, Construction Official, Township of Millburn, N.J., and Borough of Florham Park, N.J., three-year term; William McHugh, Jr., Executive Director, Firestop Contractors International Association, Hillside, Ill., one-year term; Craig Morr, Director of Quality and Compliance, NSF International, Ann Arbor, Mich., three-year term; and James Toscas, President and CEO, Portland Cement Association, Skokie, Ill., two-year term.
Stuart Tom, Fire Marshal for the city of Glendale, Calif., and a member of the ICC Board of Directors, will serve as liaison to the new IAS Board.
“The newly appointed 2016 IAS Board reflects the wealth of experience, strategic insight and energy that is needed to take IAS to the next level of becoming the largest U.S.-based accreditation body,” said IAS President Chuck Ramani. “Newly appointed members Shariar Amiri, Steve Jones and Craig Morr are all distinguished leaders in their respective fields and I look forward to their contributions to the organization. Returning members John Barrios, James Toscas, Bill McHugh, Rocco Davis and Stuart Tom have served the organization very ably in the past and I’m happy that they are available to provide me the counsel needed to carry on and grow our mission.”
