Public Input Notice for ICC 605, Standard for Residential Construction in Regions with Wildfire Hazard
The initial draft of ICC 605, Standard for Residential Construction in Regions with Wildfire Hazard, is available for public input for a period of 30-days starting November 12, 2024.
In accordance with the International Code Council’s Consensus Procedures, the initial draft of ICC 605, Standard for Residential Construction in Regions with Wildfire Hazard, is available for public input for a period of 30-days starting November 12, 2024.
ICC 605 will specify advanced methodologies for wildfire-resistant design and construction for new and existing wood-framed, steel-framed, concrete or masonry structures in wildfire-prone areas. It will provide detailed guidelines for walls, floors, roofs, foundations, windows, doors and other construction components. Additionally, it will offer a methodology for identifying, assessing and retrofitting existing homes to protect against wildfire hazards.
