The Code Council and ICC-ES showcase commitment to safety in the building industry
The International Code Council and the ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) fostered existing client relationships and established new connections with design and construction professionals from around the world during the seventh annual Design and Construction Week in Las Vegas, Nev. Returning as major sponsors and exhibitors at the 2020 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), the Code Council and ICC-ES sponsored a series of networking and educational events.
“As our fourth year serving as a major sponsor and exhibitor for this important industry event, we are grateful for the opportunity to network and collaborate with our partners in the home building community,” said Code Council Board President Greg Wheeler, CBO. “The connections and feedback we’ve received from the people we meet during the event return home with us and help us to continue the work of developing codes and standards that provide building safety and resilience for communities around the world.”
Code Council staff and board members met with industry leaders from NAHB and other organizations throughout the week to discuss changes and trends in the built environment. Many manufacturers also connected with ICC-ES and NTA personnel and applied for testing, product listing and evaluation services at the ICC-ES exhibit booths. NTA — a leading provider of testing services, product certification, inspection, engineering, off-site construction plan review and code evaluations — is a more recent addition to the Code Council family of solutions. For the fourth consecutive year, ICC-ES sponsored the Metrostudy Housing Outlook Breakfast where more than 300 building professionals gathered to discuss the latest economic and industry trends.
Next year IBS and KBIS will be held from Feb. 9-11, 2021, in Orlando, Fla.
