The International Code Council Spotlights Plumbing Partnerships at IBS / KBIS
During the show, which welcomed industry professionals from the residential design and construction community, the Code Council unveiled its latest collaborations with Pfister Faucets and the newly formed Women in Plumbing & Piping.
The International Code Council announced several key plumbing industry partnerships during the 2024 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) expo in Las Vegas.
During the show, which welcomed industry professionals from the residential design and construction community, the Code Council unveiled its latest collaborations with Pfister Faucets and the newly formed Women in Plumbing & Piping (WiPP). These partnerships represent a significant step forward in the Code Council’s commitment to bolstering the plumbing industry.
The collaboration with WiPP, will help bring the plumbing industry to a new level of excellence by supporting and promoting the contributions of women as an essential component to the future of the trades.
The Code Council also announced its sponsorship of season five of Pfister Faucet’s docuseries American Plumber Stories, which is being filmed internationally for the first time. This series celebrates the lives and work of plumbers, sharing their passion, advice and plans to reshape the industry.
On hand for the announcement was Tim Goff, President of ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential, whose brand group includes Pfister Faucets and American Plumber Stories.
“The plumbing industry is an amazing trade but we all know that getting labor is an issue. Educating the younger generation about what an amazing trade plumbing is, is something that needs a lot of help,” said Goff. “So, Spencer Brown hatched the idea of American Plumber Stories which is aimed at education, entertainment and reaching the younger generation. Pfister Plumbing is proud to have started this effort and we are very proud to now have a partnership with the Code Council moving forward.”
Also present was Craig Childress, Lead Plumber at Boston University, who in 2023, achieved the title of America’s Best Plumber. Craig showcased his exceptional skills by winning both the National Plumbing and HVAC Championships in Tampa during the Elite Trades Championship Series.
“I’m so grateful for the support from the Code Council. Their passion for the success of the trades is unmatched,” said Childress.
The Code Council will support the 2024 Plumbing National Championship competition later this year in West Palm Beach, Florida.
“The IBS and KBIS tradeshows serve as key platforms for top professionals in the design and plumbing industry to come together to share their expertise and explore the latest products and trends. The Code Council recognizes the vital role plumbing professionals play in safeguarding communities worldwide, which is why we remain committed to fostering innovation, facilitating collaborative solutions and promoting the advancement of best practices for the growth of this crucial industry,” said Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO.
