This Board plays a crucial role in shaping the future of housing and community development within the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Board is responsible for the development and implementation of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, the Statewide Fire Prevention Code and other regulations that ensure safe and resilient buildings and communities.
It also oversees policies related to housing, community development and economic growth, providing guidance and governance that align with Virginia’s long-term strategic goals.
