RESNET/ICC WER Index SDC 1100 to meet
The partnership between the International Code Council and the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) has been the catalyst for the creation and substantial progress in the Water Efficiency Rating Index. The Code Council and RESNET are currently developing a Water Rating Index American National consensus standard, which will define how to calculate a rating index for water efficiency.
The second draft, PDS-02, of BSR/RESNET/ICC 1101-201x was submitted for public comment on all text in the draft beginning March 15, 2019 through April 29, 2019. The RESNET/ICC Water Rating Index Standard Development Committee (SDC 1100) will hold a webinar on May 9, 2019, to review the public comments received for Draft PDS-02, BSR/RESNET/ICC 1101-201x.

Karl Aittaniemi, P.E., is the Director of Standards at the International Code Council. He supervises the Standards Department staff in their roles supporting the development and support of ICC’s Codes and Standards out of ICC’s Central Regional Office in Country Club Hills, IL. Karl has an extensive professional background in fire protection product evaluation and has managed fire protection investigation projects in accordance with nationally and internationally recognized model codes and standards. He has experience as a forensic engineer and is a licensed professional engineer in several states.
