Code users benefit from Code Council, Chief Architect partnership

Residential and light commercial code users and public safety will benefit from a partnership between the International Code Counciland Chief Architect, Inc. The partnership provides users of Chief Architect software access to the latest versions of the Residential Inspectors Guide, the IRC Checklist: Building Provisions and other valuable resources.

“These resources include important information to navigate current code requirements and identify code compliant building products,” said International Code Council CEO Rick Weiland, “This information makes buildings safer, protects lives, reduces costs and includes resources of the ICC Evaluation Service SAVE program to identify construction products with proven sustainable attributes.”

The Residential Inspectors Guide is organized in a manner consistent with the inspection sequence and process and provides quick reference to the building and energy requirements of the 2006 International Residential Code.

The IRC Checklist: Building Provisions is organized by subject to allow the user to quickly identify comments applicable to the project and have easy reference to the code provision for further clarification. Many details, figures and clarifications are provided to expedite the plan review process.
