The International Code Council (ICC) publishes building safety, fire prevention and energy efficiency codes that are used in the construction of residential and commercial buildings. Most U.S. cities, counties and states choose the I-Codes based on their outstanding quality. ICC offers the tools you need to design, install and inspect residential sprinkler systems to meet the 2009 or 2012 International Residential Code® (IRC®) requirements.

GET CERTIFIED WITH ICC RFS CERTIFICATION AND ASSESSMENT

Residential Fire Sprinkler Design / Installation

Residential Fire Sprinkler Inspector / Plans Examiner

Demonstrate your qualifications to design, install, inspect and review plans for fire sprinklers in accordance with the sprinkler requirements in the 2009 or 2012 International Residential Code (IRC). The 2009 or 2012 IRC requires fire sprinklers in all new townhomes and in all new one- and two-family residences. ICC’s RFS certifications cover your fire sprinkler needs, whether you need to verify proficiency for designing, installing or inspecting fire sprinklers to the IRC.

Contractor/trades exams are typically used to meet a jurisdiction’s requirements for licensure. Those who pass the exam receive official documentation of their score report from ICC that serves as evidence for state licensure and as validates your knowledge and technical expertise. Through passing the test, contractors demonstrate their knowledge to code officials, who are responsible for ensuring sprinklers are installed according to code.
