Annual Ron Burton Golf Outing
The Past Presiding Officers of the International Code Council will host the Annual Ron Burton Golf Outing on September 11, 2022 at the Heritage Hills Golf Club during the ICC Annual Conference.

Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Museum (Full Day)
Experience the rich history of Churchill Downs Racetrack and learn about legendary Derby winners like Aristides and Secretariat as you visit the famous Paddock and Grandstand. You’ll make a stop railside at the track while your Guide shares stories of the early days of the Kentucky Derby through its transformation into the iconic event it is today. Churchill Downs spans 147 acres with its most significant structure being the Twin Spires, an architectural feature which sits atop the grandstand and has become the universally recognized symbol for Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby. Over time, the racetrack continued to grow and modernize by adding new barns, seating, and sprinkler systems. Other renovation projects include - Paddock construction, clubhouse and barn improvements, and construction of the Matt Winn Turf Course. Further updating includes the addition of luxury suites, expansions and a new grand entrance.
With two floors of interactive, family friendly exhibits, the Kentucky Derby Museum takes visitors through every stage of a Thoroughbred’s life, from birth to the First Saturday in May. Learn about all the great history of the race dating back to the inaugural running in 1875 to our most recent Kentucky Derby champion and experience all the traditions that have transformed the race into what it is today. Buffet Lunch is included.

Belle of Louisville River Boat Tour (Half Day)
This narrated sightseeing cruise on the Mary M. Miller will cruise up the Ohio River. Learn about the founding of Louisville, hear about the history and importance of steamboats on the Ohio River and much more. Discover interesting facts about architecture and design along the way.
A $10 concession voucher as well as unlimited soda/water will be provided. Lunch will not be provided.
Transportation is not provided. The boat dock is located 0.3 miles from the convention center. Additional fee applies. This tour is limited to 150 people and is listed as an option when you register.

Water Reuse Working Group: Preparing Our Buildings and Communities for Water Reuse in the 21st Century
The Code Council is establishing a Water Reuse Working Group of code development leaders and reuse experts to, in partnership with the NBRC, explore opportunities to protect public health and to better support state, local, tribal, and territorial governments seeking to advance water reuse opportunities through integration of best practices into the I-Codes that govern water quality and additional reuse issues. Forum on U.S. Federal Funding Opportunities
Presented by the ICC Government Relations Team
The U.S. federal government is making available to code officials and building safety professionals an unprecedented amount of resources – hundreds of millions of dollars – in grants, technical assistance and additional support to encourage the adoption and effective implementation of safe, resilient, and sustainable building codes. Hear from FEMA, HUD, and DOE on the resources their organizations are making available and from the City of Chicago on how it successfully navigated FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). Louisville Slugger Museum (Half Day)
This world-famous tour now begins with a thrilling movie that transports you to the forests and mills where every Louisville Slugger bat begins. After that, walk through the heart of our factory production line and check out never-before-seen steps in the bat-making process including the creation of our fan favorite mini-bats. You’ll be pulled into the factory action with bigger monitors, better sound, and stunning new graphics that help tell the story of this legendary bat. At the end of the tour, you’ll get a free souvenir mini-bat in a newly revamped gallery that showcases quotes about Louisville Slugger from superstars like Babe Ruth, Roberto Clemente and Cool Papa Bell. Discover what it took for this Museum & Factory to open in July, 1996 after extensive renovations to what once was a tobacco warehouse.

Vintage Fire Museum (Half Day)
The Vintage Fire Museum in Jeffersonville, IN is nationally known. Its features include beautifully restored fire engines (hand pumpers, chemical engines, horse-drawn steamers, early motorized engines) and other equipment dating back to 1756! During this museum tour, you will discuss Fire Safety and discover a Safety Education Center. Learn about regional firefighting history and pay tribute in an area honoring firefighters who have given their lives in fighting fires. Tour the new fire safety exhibit rooms with electronic fire simulation equipment to help teach fire safety actions vividly.

Overview of ICC Code Development Process & Introduction to Public Comment Hearings
This short educational session is designed for those new to the ICC code development process, including global attendees at the conference. Instructors Shirley Ellis and Eirene Knott will provide a general overview of the process followed to update the I-Codes every three years, review the differences between codes and standards, and prepare attendees to observe and participate in the Public Comment Hearings that will begin at 1 pm.

Public Comment Hearings
The Public Comment Hearings provide an opportunity for participants to influence the 2024 I‑Codes, the most widely used and adopted set of building safety codes in the world. At the hearings, Governmental Member Voting Representatives vote on hundreds of proposed code changes on behalf of their respective jurisdictions.
