2021 Commercial Building Inspector Webinar Series: Public Safety and Special Construction, Part I

This is a single topic within a series which will provide an overview of the basic concepts of the 2021 International Building Code. These concepts provide a basis for the correct utilization of the code. A clear understanding of the identified requirements in these 2021 IBC chapters: occupancy classification and use, special detailed requirements based on occupancy and use, general building heights and areas, and types of construction, are important to determine so that the health, safety and welfare of the future occupants is determined by identifying the concepts listed previously. This webinar will help the code user to apply the 2021 IBC in specific situations and help to build an understanding of the intent of the code when asked to make a judgment on code compliance. This course will also help the code user to correctly locate code requirements. It will also provide a basis for the correct use and application of the code as well as to begin to develop a procedure for applying them. This particular webinar will also give an overview of Fire Protection Systems, Smoke and Fire Venting Control, Interior Finishes and Insulation, Safety Glazing and Glass and Opening Protectives, Penetration and Joint Systems as they pertain to Public Safety and Special Construction. Participants will have a better understanding of the Public Safety and Special Construction concepts that are covered in the 2021 IBC.
