Part 2 – Significant Changes in the Structural Provisions of the 2021 IBC
August 17, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
The 2021 IBC has already been adopted or is soon to be adopted by major jurisdictions around the country. The 2022 California Building Code, based on the 2021 IBC, is going to be effective on January 1, 2023. Changes in the structural provisions, Chapters 16-23, from the 2018 to the 2021 IBC are discussed and explained in this series of five webinars as follows:
Part 2 – Chapters 17, 18, 19, including ACI 318-19 Chapters 1-8
This second webinar explains changes to Chapter 17, Special Inspections and Tests, Chapter 18, Soils and Foundations, and Chapter 19. The reference standard for concrete design and construction has been updated from ACI 318-14 to ACI 318-19 in 2021 IBC Chapter 19, Concrete. This being the most major standard update in the 2021 IBC, changes in ACI 318-19 take up a major portion of these structural seminars. This Part 2 discusses changes in Chapters 1 through 8 of ACI 318-19 (General, Notation and Terminology, Reference Standards, Structural System Requirements, Loads, Structural Analysis, One-Way Slabs, and Two-Way Slabs).
