ICC Board Verifies 2016 Group B Final Action OGCV Process. In accordance with Section 10.0 of CP28 Code Development, the ICC Board of Directors has verified a valid 2016 Online Governmental Consensus Vote (OGCV) process as certified by the Validation Committee. The Final Action on all 2016 Group B code change proposals, including the vote tallies from the OGCV, are available here. All totaled, there were 577 code change proposals considered during the OGCV.
Preliminary Online Governmental Consensus Voting Results Available. The preliminary OGCV results are available by clicking here. The results are preliminary as the audited process requires certification by the Validation Committee and ultimately confirmation by the ICC Board of Directors.
Members Forum at the 2016 Annual Conference. The feedback received was presented at the Forum. The attached includes comments received at the Forum plus additional feedback received to date. Additional feedback received by November 30th will be reviewed for consideration in the Preliminary Report which will be on the ICC Board’s December meeting agenda. The “next steps” are also noted. Public Comment Hearing Agenda Available. The results from the 2016 Public Comment Hearing (PCH) for Group B code development is now available.
2015 - 2017 Code Development Cycle
Welcome to the 2015/2016/2017 Cycle. This will be the first full cycle which implements ICC’s new online system called “cdpACCESS”. Be sure to visit the cdpACCESS webpage. Included with cdpACCESS are the following features:
- Online collaboration
- Online code change and public comment development and submittal
- Online submission of floor modifications while at the Committee Action Hearing
- Online Assembly Floor Motion Vote following the Committee Action Hearing
- Online Governmental Consensus Vote following the Public Comment Hearing
The table below includes all the documentation of each phase of the cycle which will result in the 2018 I-Codes. Information is posted as the Code Development process proceeds. There have been some changes to the Code Groupings from the previous cycle. They are:
- Codes moved to Group A: IEBC non-structural; IPMC; IRC-M, IRC-P; ISPSC; IZC
- Codes moved to Group B: IBC - S (which also includes IEBC structural provisions)
Be sure to consult with the "2015/2016/2017 Code Committee Responsibility" matrix (see link in table) to determine where code provisions are maintained by a committee other than the committee which typically has responsibility for maintaining the code provisions. For example, Chapter 9 of the IBC is typically the responsibility of the IBC – Fire Safety, a Group A code committee. However, numerous sections include an [F] in the code to indicate that the provisions are maintained by the IFC code committee, a Group B code committee. As such, proposed changes to these sections in the IBC would be considered in Group B in 2016. This type of information has been collected and placed in the matrix for ease of reference. | Group C: IgCC | Cancelled: ICC and ASHRAE have agreed to consolidate the IgCC and ASHRAE Standard 189.1. ASHRAE will have responsibility for all the technical provisions; thus the 2017 Group C cycle becomes unnecessary, and has been cancelled. |
