Technical Training Program
The Technical Training Program (TTP) is a flexible educational program designed to introduce the next generation of Building Professionals to the building codes. Instructors of high schools, colleges, or organizations may choose one (or multiple) of the following courses to facilitate: IRC Basics, IRC Essentials, IBC Basics, IBC Essentials.
The “Basics” are meant to be supplemental material taught by an experienced instructor, while the “Essentials” can be delivered standalone and require a less experienced instructor.
Instructors who have used this program in the past will notice valuable new additions to the TTP. “IRC Basics” is the course you’ve used in the past. You may choose to continue using the “IRC Basics” or add/switch to the new courses if you’d like.
Each course within the TTP gives you and your students access to a self-paced course through the code, exams, and certificates of completion for multiple disciplines. The four courses are:
- IRC Basics: 2021 IRC, 2021 IRC Study Companion, Basic Code Enforcement, and Inspector Skills
- IRC Essentials: 2021 IRC, 2021 IRC Essentials, Basic Code Enforcement, and Inspector Skills
- IBC Basics: 2021 IBC, 2021 IBC Study Companion, Basic Code Enforcement, and Inspector Skills
